Quiyarra McCahey is an associate attorney with practice experience in Kentucky and California. Her approach centers honest communication, thoughtful collaboration, exemplary work product, and excellent results. Quiyarra’s primary focus is civil litigation; she has defended state and federal lawsuits at all stages, including trial and appeal.
Quiyarra also has significant experience in state and federal administrative proceedings, most extensively before the US Department of Labor Office of Workers' Compensation Programs where she has defended coal mine operators and insurance carriers in hundreds of cases at all levels of review. This experience informs Quiyarra’s broader black lung practice, which has included advising clients on changes in law, practice trends, and subrogation rights. In addition, Quiyarra has represented clients in various administrative matters before Kentucky’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health Compliance, Department of Education, Department of Charitable Gaming, and Department of Corrections.
Prior to joining Reminger, Quiyarra clerked for United States District Judge Claria Horn Boom in the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and United States Magistrate Judge Colin H. Lindsay in the Western District of Kentucky. As a law student, Quiyarra completed a summer externship for United States District Judge Jay Garcia-Gregory in the District of Puerto Rico.
Quiyarra attended the University of California, Irvine School of Law as a recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and graduated with High Honors for her pro bono work.
