CLEVELAND, OH - Reminger Co., LPA of counsel Mike Rode is speaking at the American Staffing Association (ASA) Staffing Law Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 7, 2013. The ASA’s direct hire certification program, developed in part by Rode, will be introduced at the Conference. This newest certification program by the ASA was specifically designed for search and placement professionals. It will focus on contract issues and federal employment laws specific to recruiters and will help recruiters enhance their knowledge of contract and employment law as it relates to the recruitment and hiring of employees at all levels.
As the voice of the U.S. staffing industry, ASA works to develop and implement high-quality professional development offerings for its member companies. ASA will release study tools, a practice exam, and the online exam for this certification program at its Staffing Law Conference.
Mike is the former Vice President and General Counsel of Management Recruiters International, Inc. (MRI), one of the world's largest executive recruitment and staffing organizations. In that capacity he developed substantial expertise in legal matters relating to both executive recruitment and staffing and franchising, focusing heavily on contractual and labor and employment matters, including discrimination, wage and hour, employment relations, trade secret and IP issues.
Mike has represented his clients before both federal and state trial and appellate courts, the American Arbitration Association, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state EEO administrative agencies. He has also drafted and implemented a wide variety of policies and forms including employment agreements, arbitration agreements, computer use policies and social media site policies.
Mike has extensive experience in providing training regarding properly conducting workplace investigations, employee discipline and discharge issues and employment discrimination issues. He services their many offices throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
