FT. MITCHELL, KY – In the wake of catastrophic flooding in eastern Kentucky, The Reminger Foundation has awarded a $75,000 grant to The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky’s Crisis Fund. The Crisis Fund provides resources directly to the people who need it most by offering individual assistance to families and grants to local businesses.
Thousands of people, including our clients, employees, and their families have been impacted by these extreme floods. Mark Reynolds Bush (Beattyville, Lee County) and J. Kelly Ratliff (Frenchburg, Menifee County), partners based in our Fort Mitchell office, grew up in rural Appalachia and their families still reside there.
“Kentuckians, especially eastern Kentuckians, have a strong and resilient spirit,” said Mark Bush, Ft. Mitchell Office Managing Partner. “This grant will help Kentucky families rebuild their lives. It will provide a chance for local businesses to rebuild and provide job opportunities and a livelihood for local folks.”
“The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky has already provided over $3.3M in relief funding for the region, but the needs we continue to see are overwhelming. This gift of $75,000 from the Reminger Foundation will help us reach so many more families, family farmers, and small business owners,” stated Gerry Roll, CEO of The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. “Thank you for the care shown by the people of Reminger for our home and for Eastern Kentuckians who need everyone’s ongoing support right now.”
The Reminger Foundation is dedicated to supporting the communities where our employees and clients live and work. As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, it is funded by the attorneys and staff of Reminger Co., LPA, and friends of the law firm.
