CLEVELAND, OH – Westfield Insurance recently presented Jade A. Stewart and Stephanie D. Ross with awards for their service as panel counsel at the company’s annual Defense Days event. Jade was honored by Dan Winkler with a Blue Ocean Award for her outstanding year of service to Westfield Insurance and its insureds. Stephanie was honored with an OARS Award in recognition of her successful resolution of claims in a cost-effective and creative manner.
Jade is a shareholder in Reminger’s Cincinnati office. She has both trial and appellate experience in various areas of civil litigation in Kentucky and Ohio. She has also represented employers throughout the multiple levels of the workers’ compensation system. Before joining the firm, Jade externed with the Honorable Judge Mark P. Painter. She also worked at another Cincinnati law firm that specialized in personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, and intentional tort cases. For the first seven years of her law practice, Jade was at another regional law firm, at which she specialized in malpractice and civil litigation defense.
Jade is a previous recipient of Westfield awards, having been honored in 2014 for her efforts at resolving cases in a cost-effective and creative manner. In 2016, Jade was awarded a Golden Gavel award in recognition for her handling of a complex litigation file. She has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine since 2012.
Stephanie is a shareholder in Reminger’s Fort Mitchell office. Her insurance defense practice is focused on representing employers and carriers in a wide range of matters arising out of workers’ compensation, including employee claims, coverage disputes, UCSPA proceedings, medical fee disputes, and subrogation actions.
Stephanie is regarded as a talented appellate advocate, a role founded on her strong writing skills and experience as a staff attorney for Kentucky’s Workers’ Compensation Board. Often called on to handle appeals of adverse decisions in large or complex claims, she has successfully briefed numerous cases before Kentucky’s Workers’ Compensation Board, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
Stephanie frequently presents on workers’ compensation issues to a variety of professionals, including insurance adjusters and risk managers. She serves on the Board of Women Leaders in Insurance, an organization committed to professional development of insurance professionals and recruitment of talent into the industry.
