CLEVELAND, OH –Edwin C. Reminger, father of our firm’s founder Richard T. Reminger, has been inducted into the inaugural class of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (C|M|LAW) Hall of Fame. The new Hall of Fame honors individuals who have contributed to the past, present, and/or future success and reputation of C|M|LAW.
Edwin was born in 1895 in Sandusky, Ohio. Before beginning his legal studies, Edwin served with the armed forces during World War I. Upon his return, he attended night law school at the John Marshall School of Law, graduating in 1922. Edwin focused his legal career on matters involving transportation law. He was a founding member and president of the American Society of Traffic and the Motor Carriers Lawyer Association, and was also active locally with the Interstate Commerce Commission. Even while practicing law, Edwin continued to serve his country: during World War II, he worked as office manager of the joint information office of common, contract, and private carriers, and served on a Selective Services Advisory Committee. A successful attorney, a father of three, and servant to his country, Edwin passed away in 1977 at the age of 83.
Edwin’s son Richard (Dick) entered the practice of law in April 1958, working out of an office located in the Schofield Building. Upon moving his office to 75 Public Square in 1964, Dick offered Edwin, who at the time was semi-retired, an opportunity to join him at the new offices, and named the law firm Reminger and Reminger.
Now named Reminger Co., LPA, the firm will be celebrating our 60th anniversary next year. Since first opening our doors, we have grown from one individual to a full-service firm employing several hundred attorneys, paralegals, and staff. We have expanded into fourteen offices across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
“My parents instilled in me high expectations and a compulsion to achieve, for which I am forever grateful,” remarked Dick. “I am pleased that C|M|LAW has recognized my father for this honor by virtue of his admirable and principled traits.”
