CLEVELAND, OH – Reminger has elevated six attorneys to shareholder status: Michael J. Caligaris, Matthew R. Carona, Shana DeMooy, Steven B. Lowery, Frank Mazgaj, Jr., and Michael D. Rice.

Michael J. Caligaris – Cincinnati Office
Michael’s practice is primarily focused on defending professionals and businesses, largely in the areas of but not limited to Professional Liability (i.e., Legal, Architects and Engineers, Construction Liability); Employment Practices and Civil Rights Defense (inclusive of defamation claims); Medical Malpractice and Long Term Care Liability; Trucking and Commercial Transportation; Retail, Hospitality, and Entertainment; and General Liability. He also serves as personal counsel for several local business practices within the construction and the mental health industry. Michael first joined Reminger as an associate in 2021.

Matthew R. Carona – Akron and Cleveland Offices
Matt focuses his practice primarily on the areas of workers’ compensation and employment practices liability. Matt has an extensive workers’ compensation practice, having handled all matters of workers’ compensation claims including claim allowances, treatment issues, violations of specific safety requirements (VSSR), and permanent total disability applications before the Ohio Industrial Commission. Matt first joined Reminger as an associate in early 2024.

Shana DeMooy – Columbus Office
Shana focuses on probate estate and trust disputes, matters of undue influence and financial exploitation, breach of fiduciary duty and fiduciary removal claims, estate and trust administrations, and guardianships. Shana represents both fiduciaries and beneficiaries in will contests, trust contests, and declaratory judgment actions related to the validity of various financial and real estate transactions. Shana also represents both fiduciaries and beneficiaries in breach of duty claims in the estate, trust, power-of-attorney, and guardianship contexts. Shana first joined Reminger as an associate in 2022.

Steven B. Lowery – Louisville Office
Steven focuses his practice on complex tort defense. He represents businesses and individuals throughout Kentucky and Indiana in a wide array of disputes, including personal injury, trucking, premises liability, products liability, construction liability, and other challenging areas of tort defense. He further specializes in the defense of professional negligence cases, representing insurance brokers, lawyers, and financial professionals. Steven first joined Reminger as a law clerk in 2017 and was named an associate in 2019.

Frank Mazgaj, Jr. – Cleveland Office
The primary focus of Frank’s practice is the defense of medical malpractice claims against hospitals and physicians. He also has extensive experience in personal injury, construction, insurance coverage, and professional liability litigation. Frank first joined Reminger as an associate in 2023.

Michael D. Rice – Dayton Office
Michael has considerable civil litigation experience, having defended a wide variety of cases in federal and state courts in Ohio. Michael's practice encompasses medical malpractice, long-term care liability, professional liability, business and commercial litigation, general liability, and insurance coverage/bad faith. He first joined Reminger as an associate in 2023.
