Overview
Adriann is a partner in Reminger’s Columbus office, where she focuses her legal practice on estates, trusts, probate and guardianship law. Adriann represents individuals, institutions and organizations in the pursuit and defense of trusts and will contests, declaratory judgment actions regarding the invalidation of financial or real estate transactions, guardianship proceedings, fiduciary litigation, financial exploitation, and power of attorney abuse. Adriann litigates probate, trust and guardianship cases throughout Ohio. She has experience handling all aspects of litigation including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, evidentiary hearings, bench and jury trials. On the administration side of her practice, Adriann handles estate planning, probate estate and trust administrations as fiduciary and as counsel for fiduciaries. She also serves as guardian for individuals, represents guardianship applicants, family members and individuals subject to guardianship proceedings.
Adriann regularly conducts presentations and speaks on issues involving litigation regarding wills, trusts and other testamentary documents, ethical considerations in estate planning and guardianships. She also draws on her experience as a board member of the Ohio Coalition for Adult Protective Services (OCAPS), as a current member of the Ohio Guardianship Association, and as a former board member of the Consortium Against Adult Abuse, which facilitates the identification, prevention and treatment of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults through active collaboration and education.

Obtained motion for judgment on the pleadings on our request to invalidate a quit-claim deed that deprived our client’s interest in the real property he would have otherwise received through the decedent’s Will.

Adriann McGee and Mary Kraft represented the Plaintiff, the Executor of an Estate in a claim for breach of fiduciary duty. Plaintiff’s claim included that the power of attorney for the decedent breached her duties by adding herself as the co-owner on the decedent’s bank account, then gifting herself funds that belonged solely to the decedent. Adriann and Mary presented their case over a 4 day trial in front of the jury. The jury also awarded attorney fees and costs to the Plaintiff estate. This was the first jury trial to be held in the Delaware County Probate Court in 25 years.
